As in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah today the outcry is great and the sin is very grievous. I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. Abraham began to plea for the lives of any that may be righteous in the city. He went from if there be 50 to if there be but 10 righteous will you spare the city.
Genesis 19:1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
Lot pressed upon them to come into his house because he knew the state of the city.
Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.” Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him and said, “No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing. He even offered them his virgin daughters. The hearts of the men were so vile. They began to press upon Lot so much so they almost broke the door trying to get to the men. The angels snatched Lot inside and smote them with blindness so they couldn't find the door.
The two men said to Lot, “Do you have anyone else here sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here, because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the Lord against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it.” There were not 10 righteous in the city.
Lot told his son-n-laws and they mocked him. They did not believe. With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished.” It is time to come out. Pick a side. As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back.
Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land. But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt. No man can serve two masters. What are you holding on to? What are you afraid of walking away from to fully, wholeheartedly serve Christ? Why do you look back? The outcry is loud. The hearts of mankind is wicked.
Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. There is nothing left, there is nothing worth turning back for, run for Jesus like your life depends on it... because it does! Lord if there be 10 righteous in the city will you spare it?
