1 Peter 2:21-24
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. Strive or aim to be like Christ. Respond and react like Christ. “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” He never misrepresented the truth. Nor should we ever withhold information to get over on someone else. Not in the gospel, on our job, when making deals. We should always strive to be honest.
When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. He didn't do tit for tat. Jesus didn't start cursing ppl out or telling them what was on his mind. Nor did he say things like "They better be glad I'm not who I use to be" (ouch) Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. “He himself bore our sins”in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
We now must do the same when you are treated unjustly, carry that cross without saying a mumbling word. When you are lied on be ok not telling your side of the story. Entrust yourself to God who judges justly. We are healed from a sin sick soul. No longer bound, no longer a slave to sin. This healing comes only through him that gave his life for you. Yeshua the Christ. Our example Psalms 34:13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech.
We have the right to remain silent, Matthew 11:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. Be slow to speak, slow to anger, every decision we make is a choice. Choose Christ, choose to respond and react Christ like.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life. He's coming back for a church without a spot or wrinkle will you be ready?
